He currently holds a position of Hematology Professor at the Research and Innovation Department of Antoine Lacassagne Cancer Center in Nice, France. On top of that, Prof. Gallamini cooperates with Postgraduate Schools of Hematology in Turin University and Cagliari University.

Professor Andrea Gallamini graduated in Medicine in 1975 in Genoa University and got the PhD in Internal medicine in 1983 and the PhD in Clinical Hematology in 1986.

In 1987 he was applied as senior assistant in the Internal Medicine Department in Cuneo Hospital, Italy. Starting from 1999 until 2013 he has covered the position of Director of the Hematology Department and Bone marrow transplantation in S. Croce Hospital in Cuneo.

Professor Andrea Gallamini’s principal field of research interest is clinical management and functional imaging in Hodgkin lymphoma, and the clinical management of peripheral T-cell lymphoma. In September 2020 Prof. Gallamini was ranked by Expertscape among the 100 most expert scientists in Hodgkin lymphoma in the past 10 years with the 13th position. He holds the Karl Mushoff prize for the best abstract at the 7th International Symposium on Hodgkin Lymphoma. He was the Co-Chairman of the International Meeting on PET in Lymphoma and Myeloma (PILM) in 2007-2017. In June 2012 he was awarded by the board of the U.S. Society of Nuclear Medicine for the educational program on “PET & Lymphoma” during the annual meeting in Miami (US). In September 2013 Professor Gallamini was appointed as the honorary member of the Polish Hematology and Transfusion Society.

Professor Gallamini is a peer reviewer for well-known international journals, including Nature Reviews, Journal of Clinical Oncology, Journal of Clinical Investigation, Lancet Hematology, Blood, Annals of Oncology, Leukemia and Lymphoma (since 2012 member of the editorial board), Haematologica and Journal of Nuclear Medicine.

He is an author of 173 scientific articles recorded in PubMed, Editor of two books PET scan in Lymphoma and Lymphomas and Author of 4 chapters in different books dealing with functional imaging in lymphoma. His citations level (Google Scholar) is 15749 and Hirsch Index of 60.
