Yasuhide Yamada, MD

Dr. Yamada leads a distinguished career as a medical oncologist and authority in colorectal and gastric cancer. Dr. Yamada has authored over 230 publications on topics such as clinical investigations involving prognostic and predictive factors clinical outcomes, standard treatment for advanced gastrointestinal cancer, and translational research with clinical tissue. He is regarded as one of the leading colorectal and gastric cancer experts in the world. He has organized or participated in randomized clinical trials that have defined the current standards of gastrointestinal cancer especially with oral fluoropyrimidines. He is the editor of Global Health and Medicine, which is the official journal of the National Center for Global Health and Medicine. He has held major leadership roles in 2 comprehensive cancer centers (National Center for Global Health and Medicine, and Hamamatsu University).
