The value of networks in driving phase I trials: the Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre experience
Abstract
The Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre is strongly focused on the conduct of translational research in driving towards better outcomes for patients. Central to this is our clinical trials program, with a strategic focus on early phase trials. Our efforts in developing a world-class program focused on early phase trials have been critically dependent on the creation and collaboration with key networks: local, regional and global. In this paper, we will articulate how the early drug development landscape has evolved in Australia, and how and why collaboration has been such a critical enabler for us in driving success.
