Hope S. Rugo (Figure 1), MD, is a Professor of Medicine in the Division of Hematology and Oncology at the Helen Diller Family Comprehensive Cancer Center of the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF), where she directs Breast Cancer and Clinical Trial Education Breast Oncology and Clinical Trails Education. Her research interests include novel therapies for ad-vanced breast cancer, immune modulation to restore chemotherapy sensitivity evaluation of circu-lating cells as novel markers of response and resistance to therapy, neoadjuvant therapy, and supportive care.
